Dr Sir.

I arrived here with my family today. I find Dr. Nott is very officious in trying to get the College from us, and is now in Washington for that purpose. Not one penny of the property in the Museum has been destroyed, since we occupied the building. There is no other place in the city that we can obtain and we must keep it. If you can raise 2/3 of the means necessary to repair the building I think I can raise 1/3 from school exhibitions Fairs &c. Our building is in better condition now than when we found it, and all the property that has been destroyed was done before we had possession of it. This needs prompt action or, we lose it. Please Telegraph Genl. Howard.

Very Respectfully Your
