Dear Sir _

This will be handed you by my Agent C. Duval, Esqr., whom I have directed to call on you while in Montgomery.

Mr. Duval together with R. F Keeoth [[Keeth]], have had charge of captured Property, which property or its proceed, I am directed by the Treaty Dpt. to hand over to you. 

You have doubtless been informed that said property has been advertised for sale. It rests with you to determine whether it is best under the circumstances to proceed with the sale as advertised
