Opelika Ala August 26th 1865

Brig General Wager Swayne.
Assistant Commissioner. Bureau of
Refugees. Freedmen and Abandoned Lands

General
I have the honor to request that I may be furnished with transportation for myself and Four Sisters from Opelika Ala To Princeton Kentucky for the following reasons.

About Four years since my Father and Family moved to this place, from Princeton Kentucky
and since our arrival here we have the misfortune to lose both of our Parents, leaving us in a completely destitute condition. we are aged respectively 19, 17, 15, 13 and 11, are completely unable to even make a support here, and are without means of any shape to provide transportation for ourselves, yet our condition is such as to imperatively demand that we be assisted to go to our old home where we will be enabled to provide for ourselves.

very Respectfully Your Obedient Servant
Margaret F Pinner
of Opelika Russell Co Alabama
