The children are coasting down the standpipe hill they are improving every minute, the snow has all gone from the street & in the villiage it is glare ice. terribly slippery they say. She has just got home from church & seems disgusted because she went. they had a nigger preacher (Mr Mitchel) she closed her eyes & tried to forget he was colored, he preached a good sermon, but she being born in the south she couldn't seem to forget he was a nigger.

Well we had a good dinner Oyster stew & Butterscotch pudding. with a side dish of cabbage salad I was hungry & it tasted good to me. Bill may come later. he came the other day & she was gone to a party I guess he was sorry not to have seen her. he has joined Social Security order so I guess it seems to be a good order to join up to & is well worth trying for no knowing how low one gets in life these days.

I hope Doris is over her labors & is on the road to enjoy life with her companions Dolores & her boy friend for instance glad she is happy at last. Ma.
