Mr Branch did not desire  me to speak of his merits, but simply to urge your influence in behalf of his school and to that end permission to hold the "Medical College"– until  he can safely remove . By granting this you will considerably, if not greatly facilitate the advancement of a race, who, now, that "Father Abraham" is gone, look upon you as their Champion and Chief.
