Sir:

In reply to so much of your communication as refers to my leave of absence I would respectfully state that the reasons for my trip north are urgent and imperative. had it not been so under the circumstances I would have deferred my trip.
1st I have not seen my family for two and a half years
2nd for over four years I have not had an opportunity to attend to my private business north.
3rd I promised to be home by Oct. 1st to move my family south for the winter, on which promise Mrs A- has sold all her houshold
