Office of Assist Superintendent
Bureau of R.F. and A.L.
Greenville Ala

Colonel C. Cadle Jr.
A.A.G.

Colonel.

I have the honor herewith to transmit a Communication from the Post-Commander here, respecting the revival of the Slave trade. Various rumors have previously come to my notice, of Negroes being shipped to Brazil, but I could trace them to no reliable authority.

The Commander here tells me a citizen wished his sanction, and that if given, stated they could make money enough. He was about to arrest the party, but considered it best to postpone action in the case, until he could learn something more definite.

I am, Colonel
Very respectfully
Your Obedt. Servt.
