before Mr Ridgeway contracted with his Freedmen, and Genl Order No 12 was a part of The Law, under which the contract was made, and we think that the Freedmen who made this crop of Mr. Ridgeway and complied with their contracts have a lien on the crop for the amount Due them. If Mr Glover acting as the Agent of the Bureau seizes the cotton of Ridgeway and is sued by the Adm'r. he may remove the case to the U.S. District Court where we think the "Genl Order No 12" will be fully recognized and enforced as the Law of the Contract between the Late Ridgeway and his Freedmen
