I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your telegram of this day in answer to mine of the 23d inst. 
When I dispatched you, a large lot of stores had just arrived at the Depot, where there was no shelter for them; and in order to avoid damage from threatening rain. I determined to make the monthly shipment to Cherokee County at once. I selected that County because it is the most remote and difficult of access. The stores are now on their way, billed to my regular agent: but I delayed them a reasonable time awaiting your reply to my dispatch. I will now send a man to overtake them,
