Roanoke, Ala. Oct. 31st 1866.

Gen. W. Swayne.
Montgomery, Ala.

Dear Sir-

Since I wrote you the letter last week, signed by myself, J.H. Davis & N. Park, I have read your Gen. Order No. 4. (I believe). from which I infer that the State Agent is the person to whom we should apply, and consequently, we will not expect you to trouble yourself any further on the subject, knowing that you have a great task to prepare in discharging the business which comes properly before you; therefore we will confer with the State Agent on this matter.
Very respectfully,
yours &c W.E. Connelly
