I have the honor to report our immediate need of Trimonthly Report Blanks.
I would respectfully request you to report to Gen. Swayne that a northern gentleman of liberal education, and well recommended, has opened a school for colored children here and is succeeding well. He came to this section to look up a planting interest, was taken sick and left without resources, and undertook the school to obtain a livelihood. It may be a question whether it is best to send the teachers provided by Mr. Mellen to this place, under the
