State of Ala

Before me R S Nolen Coosa County an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said county personally appeared A. J. Nolen who being duly sworn says that Aaron a Freedman who had been employed by [[him?]] on the first Day of Jan 1866 to work 19 monthes for the sum of one hundred Dollars an feed did leave him on the 19 Day of March 1866 without any provocation whatever so far as he knows and that he an said Aaron had entered in to a writes contract sworn to and subscribed before me this 27 Day of March 1866 R.S. Nolan JP.} A. J. Nolen

Nilborg Ala March 27 1866 General Wager Swayne Sir I wish to know if there is any way to compel the above named Aaron to work his time out with his employer or to recover damages out of him for failure to do so his employer informs me that it will be very much against him in making a crop as said Aaron was a foreman hand and may cause others to abandon their work
