I have the honor to report that in accordance with the requirements of their obligations Messrs Joseph Jenkins and others charged with the murder of the Freedman Alfred, reported in person at my office to day, and have requested that as it is twenty five miles from their home in Sumter County to Demopolis and only six (6) miles to the office of Thos L Bevill Agt for the Bureau at Livingston, that they be permitted to report in person weekly to Mr. Bevill and let Mr. B report to me by letter instead of their reporting at this office in person.  Or if this course would not answer they desire to have their obligations so changed
