I have the honor to state the following with facts to support the same - for the information of the General Commanding State of Ala.
I arrived at this station April 13th 1866. in time to see the Garrison leave for muster-out - scarcely had the young "Chivalry" ascertained and realized they were not under restraint when with the first occasion from fifteen to thirty of them mostly armed, with one John Glascock at their head proceeded threateningly about town hunting down the Black man Barry, Agent for the Mobile Nationalist - Very fortunately Barry escaped discovery - I pass over numerous minor offenses, which brings me to the time of the Exhibition or Concert at Mrs Staffords School the last days of June 1866.  The demonstrations then ridiculed the "Freedmens Bureau" exalted the so called Confederate Govt. and army, and insulted every Loyalist present -
