Evergreen Feb 12th 1866
Gen Wager Swayne
Montgomery Ala

Dear Sir
I have just had an interview with Judge of Probate of our County and he shows me a letter from M.H. Cruikshank stating that as Commissioner for Ala to aid you as Commissioner of the B of R & F &c in recp't and distribution of supplies to the indigent of our county and informs the Judge that the Rations will be furnished by the supt. of L.B. at Greenville.

Holding a commission from you as Asst B.R.F.&A.L. for Conecut County and having drawn Rations from Col. G.D. Robinson for the Indigent of our county. It appears there must be some mistake in Mr. Cruikshanks order to Judge of Probate. If not it will subject the county to unnecessary expenses at the Rations could be used at Evergreen being near the center of the county an need not be shipped as would be the case if the supplies had to come through the Greenville office.
Please let me know what effect the arrangement will have on my duties under the commission I hold under you.

Respectfully your &c
Asst Supt BRF&AL
Conecut County
