General Montgomery Ala Colonel When Captain Kerr was in this city he sold to Mr Fred Howard a Flat-boat that had been seized as being the property of the late C.S. Navy. Some time after the boat had been sold to Mr. Howard it was seized by order of Acting Rear Admiral H.K. Thacher Comdg the Gulf Squadrons as belonging to the Navy. When the boat was seized by Capt Kerr it was in the hands of a citizen. to whom it appears it had been loaned by an Officer of the Navy. Mr Howard paid Capt Kerr $300. for the boat
