all the expenses of removing the Bricks from the Fort. and to pay the Bureau five dollars (5.00) a thousand as soon as it was assertained how many bricks there were in the Fort
Last Friday it was reported to me that this man, who Fraser had hired to remove the bricks from Fort Sidney Johnston had sued him for the wages. and that Mr. Fraser had stated before Justice Stare that he Fraser, hired the men as an Agent of the Freedmens Bureau and that the Bureau and not he were responsible for there wages, but at the same time, Mr Fraser as an Agent of the Bureau made a contract with these men a Copy of which I enclose.
Mr Fraser has never had authority from this Office to make such a contract
