Stoughton June 29th 1951

Dear Doris, Its a cool morning 60° on the porch this morning & cloudy. the sun may come out later on & warm up the earth. She made a fire early in the kitchen stove. The party came yesterday 8 people I started early in the morning, to pick the flowers so to decorate the rooms before they got here. The rambler roses, were very pretty, in little glasses, to relieve the bay window in the brackets where the plants used to be. I also put some sweet William with them & tiger lillies, for a big boquey on the side table. she used her dishes to entertain them & we moved the big extention table in the setting room to eat dinner. tey played cards in the front room, on two card tables. so you see how the house was upset. she had eight people here to her party & Laura & Phoebie Hill came here early to help. then Phoebie brought a nice big cake that she made. there was no need of their
