Office A.C.S. B.R.F & A.L. Selma Ala July 12th 1867

The Board met pursuant to the above order present 1st Lieut F T. Adams 33rd U.S. Infantry, and proceeded to examine into a deficiency said to exist between the amount of a certain lot of Corn shipped by Lieut. Joseph Logan A.AQ.M. B.RF &. A.L. at Mobile Ala. and the actual amount received at Selma Ala. by 1st Lieut. Geo. Shorkley. U.S.A. and A.C.S. B.R.F & A.L.

The Board was shown the invoices of this lot of Corn which called for Two thousand two hundred & seventy three (2273) sacks of corn while the actual amount received was two thousand one hundred & ninety (2190) sacks thus making a deficiency of eighty three (83) sacks, as per the following depositions

A.F. Rennie, clerk in the Post Commissary Office, being duly sworn deposes. - I was present at the wharf and tallied this lot of Corn and found a deficiency to exist of eighty three (83) sacks.

John Smyth clerk in the Q. M. office being duly sworn, deposes. - I was at the Depot and tallied the lot of Corn in question, and found the amount to be eighty three (83) sacks short of the amount called for by the invoices - the corn was taken directly from the boat to the storehouse
