I am entirely out off provisions at the time and if I could help my condition I would not trouble you. I have no Land of my own nor no stock except two Cows one of them affords us milk and butter. I have a good garden and potatoe patch
Please if you can possibly help me to some provisions such as Corn Bacon Salt or a little money if you have it to spare. I will receive it and be more than thankful. God loveth a cheerful giver and he will chastise those whom he loveth to General Swain
Please as it lies your power to assist me in my helpless condition to help me do all you can for me, My oldest Daughter is Married and my soninlaw says by another year he will be able to get a place and move us to it and make a crop, I must close hoping to hear from you by the Rearer in my favor
With many good wishes for your future welfare I must close
Nothing more,
Sarah L Anderson
