Sir:
In compliance with Par. 1. Special Orders No 54 from these Head Quarters I have the honor to report that I have inspected the corn and bacon in possession of J.C. Hendrix Actg Sub Asst Commissioner, and that at the warehouse of Lehman Durr & Co. for which Captain Whiting is responsible.

In the storehouse occupied by Mr. Hendrix there is about one hundred sacks of corn of the N.Y.F.R supplies and about Eighteen Thousand pounds of meat - a part of the meat is unsmoked and should be disposed of. the corn is in fair order. At the warehouse of Messrs Lehman Durr & Co, there are Thirty six hundred sacks of corn furnished by the
