Colonel:
In compliance with Par 2. Special Orders No 78. Hd'Qrs Dist. of Ala. Nov. 16th 1867. I visited the plantations of Mrs. Hunter and L.B. Bradley of Lowndes Co. and found the following state of facts to exist.
Mrs. Hunters place is worked on shares- the negroes are to receive one fourth of the cotton, one third of the corn and half the potatoes raised on the place. Mrs. Hunter and the overseer equally divide the balance between them. The crops are divided and gathered and there seems to be no disposition to defraud the negroes
