they were not able to do so. I would have appealed to a higher court, but not having the means I appeal to you for redress. I am sure the case never would have been brought before court even, if it had not been that I made so many enemys during the war. The solisitor in pleading the case, said that I did not join the army and if I did not have any money that I ought to be made an example of. 

If you consider this case as tried unlawfully you will oblidge me very much by letting me know how I can have the money that has been paid out by my friends refunded to them. I hope you will pardon my troubling you, as I should not have done so if I had been able to pay the money myself. But in justice to my friends who are not able to lose so much, I wish to know if this trial is just.
