He uses his office and position for [[pets and partizans?]], ignoring justice and right.
He has threatened to break up a Union League at this place because freedman belong to it and is using his position and influence against reconstruction, and to keep the freedman from the polls and his rights by threats and menaces.
The above is but a small enumeration of his many short comings, all of which can be made clear by undoubted testimony.
I have no personal acquaintance with you I will however state to you that I am P.M. and alling goods at this place, that I was a union man all through the late Rebellion and should you deem it necessary can give you names here in regard to my character &c I will also refer you to Fortune S Chislom as to who I am.
We wish here, an impartial administration of the law and to do which we must have agents who understand, our rights and will respect them
This county is yet quite bitter against the Union and negroes having their rights yet things are improving and I think with a rebuke or two from you properly applied will place all things right here
