I refer to this as indicative & explanatory of the Policy of these men but this gentleman not liking the proposition regrets & serve scorn & is no longer a supporter of the Gentleman as I understand. Hence the desperation to withdraw & leave the impression at the same time that he is a friend of the negro & to create a belief that the people would not allow a school to be organized.
