Sir,
I have received your letter of the 16th instant and am much obliged to you for the attention you have given a matter in which I am so much interested. As I wrote you before my situation is such that I can not go nor send for my daughter Lucy before the ensuing Fall. I would have no objection to allowing her to be placed with a private family where she could get her board and clothing for her services until I could arrange to go after her, this I leave with you to provide for her comfort. All I want is for her to be taken care of and well treated until I can get her home and if she should get sick please have a Doctor if necessary called in to attend her and I will be thankful to you besides paying or compensating you for your trouble.

I am sir yours
Respectfully
Wesley Griffin
