State of Alabama
Butler [[strikethrough]] Monroe [[/strikethrough]] County
S.S

I, Wm Jordan of Monroe County, State of Ala. being duly sworn, do depose, and say, that to the best of my knowledge, and belief, [[strikethrough]] that [[/strikethrough]] Frank Stallworth of Monroe County, went to Mobile and without proper authority, or upon false representation took from Mobile to Claiborne Monroe County One hundred and thirty sacks of Corn and several casks of bacon, of Government supplies, about the middle of February.
That Walden Esq took the sacks from Claiborne to Monroeville, and that this was done without any authority from the Commissioners Court, that said Walden & Stallworth put in claims to the Commissioners Court, for their services, at exorbitant rates. Stallworth at the rate of $10.00 per day, and Walden at similar exorbitant rates, to Deponent unknown that the Court refused to acknowledge their claims, and that the claimants locked up the corn, and kept the keys of the Storehouse and that they declared that they would sell the corn to get their claims, that said Stallworth did offer for sale a portion of the corn without getting a bid, and he therefore bid it in at his own price, and removed forty (40) sacks of the corn from the warehouses and that no supplies had been issued from the Government stores up to the end of March.
