The extra storeroom was in a case of emergency hired during my absence by my Clerk, as two shipments of Corn, one from Lieut Logan 2,000 bushels and the other from the N.Y F.R. Ass. 2000 bushels were arriving. In addition to the warehouses being filled the R.R. Depot was also full with Corn which the R.R. agent was daily urging me to remove. As soon as was possible to notify the agents to come for the apportionment of Corn I commenced distributing and vacated 2 houses, to date 1st inst- The expense in erecting Hospital buildings at this place has far exceeded my expectation, also the estimate that was furnished me by experienced men before the buildings were commenced, they will be completed, except the chimneys, by the 15th inst, with one Carpenter and a small purchase bill
Trusting my explanation will prove satisfactory and hereafter I hope to comply with your better judgement in all cases.
Very Respectfully
Your obdt servt
