as no answer has been received, On the 2" inst, he came to this office with a Deputy Sheriff, being under arrest for the amount of the judgement. He then stated that he would not pay the judgement and that he wished to make an offer appeal to the Bureau for reimbursement or for such action as would afford him relief. At his request I forwarded a statement of the facts to Genl. Swayne to which no reply had yet been received.
I respectfully transmit a copy of the "Bill of Exceptions" prepared by Osborne's Counsel, and a copy of Judge Rapier's charge to the jury which may be of some aid in making intelligible the facts in this matter.
