New Orleans under whom I served until the campaign against Mobile when my services being desired by Capt S.E. Rundle A.Q.M at Fort Gaine, Ala. as Chief Clerk I reported to him at that place for duty and was with him in that occupation when Mobile surrendered and till the following August when he resigned from the service at which time I also resigned service which time I have resided in Mobile doing a Commission business I would come to Montgomery and see you personally but I had to give a bond not to leave the county of Mobile for the term of sixty days  all that I ask in the matter from your hands is the Justice which I cannot get from the Civil Courts of this state  if you cannot in your wisdom have the Judgement set aside that has been given against me you can order the bereau to pay me back the money that I have paid for the flat Boat. I have no friends to help me and call upon you to protect me. I enclose you a communication from Col M D. Wilkershaw formally chief Q.M of this dept. if you would order me to report to you I could explain the matter better than by writing to you
