Asst. Commissioner.

General,
I have found the Corn in Store-house of Prattle Edward & Co. - as represented by Mr Carew. It is very similar quality to that Capt. Arthur received from the West, and I think is perfectly sound and dry.

I intend to have it weighed, loaded, and started for Rome by thursday morning, March 28th

Very Respectfully
Your Obdt. Servt

P.S. It costs 12 ¢ per bushel transportation on Corn from this to Rome.
