whip and said "God d'n you I will have it or shoot the hill out, (meaning the occupants of the place) "You shant make a d'n thing on the place this year I'll shoot you out and burn you out." He then went over to Mr Golson's house and received the 65$ from him, and said to Peter Golson Jr "You need not be surprised if you die before your time comes". Again about the 4th of January, Burrell Lee attacked Wm Lisock (Col'd) on Wm Golson's place, near the freed people's quarters with a riding whip without cause, and was tried before the County Court of Butler County, and fined Eighty dollars  $80 00 and Costs. Following the trial and finding named, about the 7th of June 1867, a Cow and a steer the property of these freed people were found dead near the house of Robert Lee, killed with buck shot. 

I am informed by the applicants for protection above named, that these facts have been brought before the Civil authorities, with the results named as follows. 

Attack upon Peter Golson Jr by Robert Lee with a pocket knife. No true bill found against him. 

Attack upon Morris Golson with pistol &c by William Lee, warrant issued after he had escaped,
