The child was left with Mrs Jno T Foster, who took charge of it, and has exercised an uncommon degree of parental care and attention over the child ever since, its mother was very careless and indifferent to the security of the child, and Mrs. Foster's guardianship & protections was exercised over it as was act of necessity at the time.

Moses Davis & Ellen never at any time pretended that they were husband & wife or recognized each other as such in any way, but on the contrary always denied it.

The Child has a good home - unusually so - Mrs. F. exercises at all time great care and attention with it & is taking much trouble to advance it is learning.
