You saw something on my self imposed [[??]] as to [[?]] the white poor farmers to make an attempt at a crop - after maintaining
and employing my well trained and dutiful old servants of color.

The [?]] has been left - after three years past - so heavy upon myself, that I am almost staggering under it.

I leave [[?]] providing for my old plantation once shared the corn that I got in New Orleans to make a crop, with some fifteen or twenty families, within they have started a crop but they will not be able to finish, if even to get bread for [[??]] unless I get your help. I have on [[??]] written another [[??]] from New Orleans. Will put as ours until corn is made.
