Mr. Blair is an old citizen of Tuskaloosa - thoroughly honest- earnestly endeavoring to do full justice to the Freedmen, and is universally respected in that community. Owing to the disturbed condition of Affairs in that part of the State and the great confidence entertained in Mr. Blair, I think he can do more good for the colored people than a new man could do; and I would recommend that, at least in the present, no change be made.

Very Respectfully,
Edwin Beecher
