Acknowledges receipt of 
Proceedings Board of Survey in relation to the property lost in shipment from Demopolis to Tuscaloosa. States that the owner of the ‘Lenny Rogers’ refuses to pay to pay the amount specified.

Sub Dist Alabama with copy of communication from Asst Comm'r Tuscaloosa Ala, requesting that the necessary Military orders be issued to enable the Govt to collect from the Agents or owners of the “Jennie Rogers” the sum of $133.32 the amount due the U.S. for Commissary Stores lost by them, and for which they are responsible.

Respectfully referred to Bvt. Maj James Cristes U.S.A. Capt. 15" Infantry, who will take possession of the boat and place a guard over it until the within amount is paid. It is preferred the assigns should be made at Tuskaloosa, provided the boat runs to that place, if not, an officer will be sent to Demopolis with a proper guard to make the assigns is held as above directed. These papers to be retd with report.
