Respectfully returned to the A.A.G. 3d. Mil. Dist. On the papers presented the proceedings of the Agent of the Bureau of R.F. and A.L. in this case, seem to be unauthorized. There is, however, in Alabama, a law, (§ 2883 Revised code), which provides that, in certain specified cases, the wages of any head of a family, in that state, to an amount equal to one half of such wages, in no case to be less than twenty-five dollars per month, should not be subject to any legal process. Under this Statute Osborne's wages may not have been liable to attachment. If that was the case the Bureau Agent, instead of issuing an arbitrary order, should have claimed the exemption
