General:
I must respectfully ask authority to obtain from the Subsistence Department of the army, for long as may be necessary, a regular issue of subsistence for the "Cobbs Orphans Home" a charitable institution located in the city of Montgomery.
It has been the custom of the Asst. Commissioner, when necessary, to send orphans of loyal citizens to this institution where they have received most careful attention. It was established in 1858 under the direction of Bishop Cobb of the Episcopal Church, and is a most worthy institution.
The inmates now number Eighteen, (18) - there are accommodations for (26)
