It has been estimated that a suitable school building, such as is required here, can be erected at a cost of Fifteen Hundred Dollars.

The former Supt. of Education of Ala. Capt. C.W. Buckley, promised our freedmen last year the above mentioned aid, and thereupon the latter, depending upon the fulfillment of the promise, have succeeded in saving out of their hard earnings nearly Two Hundred Dollars as their contribution in the matter.

But the latter amount will be required in purchasing a suitable building lot.

I therefore very respectfully but earnestly request that our need be considered, and the above mentioned amount be appropriated as early as possible.
