[[3 columned table]] | | Complaint | | | --- | --- | --- | | Ben Jarmin Col vs John Jarman Wh Anson Co | Rockingham Feby 1 1868 Complains that Stephen Pratt col brot a mule from Widow Austin land to John Jarmans plantation and gave the mule to him, and that Mrs Pratts cold boys came at his house 3 miles and took this mule to Mrs Pratts That he Ben got Jno Jarman to go with him in company with B Covington white went with him to Mrs P' plantation and he proved that the mule was stin that Stephen had given him and so brought the mule away, and kept it until 1866 when he rented land from J Jarman, and John Jarman told him to leave the mule with him and he would give him a steer to work in place. | Notified parties to report to this office at Wadesboro March 30 March 30 Parties reported, Emma Stephens slave wife Stephen picked up two mules on the Church lot. Emma took both mules to Mr Jarman where they remained and Mrs Pratts boys stole them away several days after, and took them to Mrs P.
