Wm Wright Wh | Wadesboro Apr 6th 1868 Complains that he took his gun to W Wright to have him repair the lock for which he chgd him 2 bush Corn or 250 fodder and when he refused to pay this amt W.W. told him he might have this gun back for $2.00 and when that was offered him he refused to take it | April 6th 1868 Wrote to Wm Wright of this complaint and if it is true he will let Wiley Little have his gun by his paying him the price of a new lock supposing the gun to be in good order |

Elija Redfern Wht  1st outrage rept [[?]] Rept | Wadesboro April 6th 68 Complains that E Redfern stuck him three times with a stick once on the hand - once on the leg & once on the wrist. The wrist is swollen & skin broken. | Sent for Mother Amy who reports to this office on 11th inst corroborating statement of Alex. States that E. Redfern after he had beat Alex came to her & assaulted her with the club nearly as large as a manure fork handle and said that you if you fool with me I will give you same as he had given Alex. |

Lindsay Rec Payment in full. | Wadesboro April 8th 1868 Complains that his daughter Jinny works for John Williams Eleven weeks in 1865 and Jno Williams says he will pay her what I say is right | April 8th 1868 Wrote to Jno Williams of that Jinny worked for me and that I paid her at the rate of 40 cts per day without board. this would amt to 26.40 allowing for board 12.50 Still due. 13.90 |

Nancy Bird W  Witness MC Long | Wadesboro Apr 9th 1868  Complains that her son named Lewis lived with Mrs N Bird ever since freed with the exceptions of about three weeks is living there now. that no Contract has been made with her for her son Asks that Mrs Bird be made to pay her for her sons work  Mrs Bird produces a receipt signed by Betty Bird for $54. in full of all account up to Mch 1 1868 | April 9th 1868 Wrote to Mrs Bird to settle with Betsy for her sons labor performed and to make a written contract with her for his time for this year.  Betsy Bird rpts 10th with 1 1/2 pks meal. a piece of pork size of one hand & 70 cents cash. Nancy Bird claims that Lewis has take up his pay. |
