Prof. Chas. A. Beard had a good article in the Dec. Harpers.  The Downings give me their old magazines.  The Nation, Harpers, Survey-Graphic etc.  Raesh said Mr Holmes seems weaker.  Doris must have had a hard time while she was at home & must feel worried all the time.  I envy Maude.  Too bad poor little Dot is having colds & trouble with her tummy I hope she is not cursed with the Fay liver & duodenum & nervous system.  Well as you say let us hope spring will bring a let up of the gloom for all of us.  Love to you all

E. is getting #2.50 a day & 30 cents goes for bus fare.  How is that?  Better than nothing though if it lasts
