Sept 26th 1905

miss grace Nicholson Pasadena Calif.
Dear grace. your wellcom [welcome] letters came to me yesterday. and was very glad to hear from you. the letters were all over at Talmage, and I was wating for them on the rural delivery. I moved home yesterday and thought I would go up and see, and I found six letters in Talmage P.O. and som [some] letters that mr Hartman writen [written] from Port land Oregon. 

The party that wanted the moccasins was. that man who runs the sicle Hotel. I told him it would cost him about $2.50. I got a letter from George Tietzel of Albuquerque. Il [I’ll] write him and tel [tell] him to send me the moccasins. or Il [I’ll] ask him if they have them. or they did have som [some] when I was there. of that large boat basket of lake C. I took a snap of it.  of which I will send you as soon as printed and som [some] of the others also. next week is a carnival in Ukiah. I may be able to get som [some] baskets from the Indians. 

The hop crop was poor this year all over the valey [valley]. som [some] Ranches were three tons shorter than last years crop
