Dear folks,

We are preparing to go out this evening, a friend of Jack's named Henry having invited us. It was funny: We had invited them (he and his fiancee) over two weeks ago, but the financee got sick so we are going there instead. It also turned out that the fiancee owned a Siamese cat which was at the time in the Clinic for a broken tail, which we had just heard from our friend the vet without knowing it was her cat. The cat just went out and returned with a broken tail, but the owner suspects someone in the apartment house who hates cats of having kicked it.

Have heard from Dolores. She seems quite well.

We have just saved enough Green Stamps for a new dictionary.

Nothing much is happening these days because Jack is studying quite hard. However, we did get to a talk by Stephen Potter the other night. Dad, if you haven't become acquainted with S. Potter you are falling behind the times. He is a British humorist who has written a book called "Lifemanship" and another called "Gamesmanship", both of which have been very popular lately. These books instruct one in how to become "one up" on the other fellow, how to make others feel inferior in other words.

Friday

I don't see how I will ever get a chance to finish this letter! Between nights of grocery shopping, visiting, and other activities it is sometimes difficult to write on time.
