Dear folks,

Sorry to hear you were so tired out by your trip and the 263 steps.

It now looks as if we were going to enjoy an even more strenuous holiday. As much as 2 years ago Jack and Alan planned to go to Colorado. Before we left D.C. we three considered it again. We have been arguing it out via the mail for some time and at last one agreed to go. Alan plans to leave D.C. on June 11. Jack's last final is June 10. We will go in Alan's (new) car and spend about two weeks roaming these Alan's old country, camping out, climbing mts (San Juan) & visiting his folks & married sister.

Since you folks like to read maps I will mention the name of places Alan has proposed visiting: Boulder, Craig (his sister's home), Grand Junction, Montrose, & Ouray (his folks' home); then the high country.

We will camp out in sleeping bags (Army surplus), I intend to cook out most of the time, generally we can economize a good deal. The only other pieces of equipment will be small knapsacks & hiking shoes. Needless to say, I will take sketching material along.

My final exams and projects are over by June 3, Jack's on June 10 as mentioned above. I can pack up (wish I could drive now!!) and
