Dear folks,

Well, seven more days. This weekend we will try to completely ready ourselves, leave for Chicago at noon (we want to buy some cut-rate film in Chicago), spend the night there, and set out on the 28th. We would arrive in Springfield the 29th, spend the night (we have written), and go on to Boston. There we will visit Bill Jencks and family. We would go on to the Stoughton place sometime and collect pears. You realize we won't have room for many. We thought of a boat trip from Boston rather than a drive to the Cape, but don't know for sure. At any rate, two or three days there.

Then on to New York, where we have several offers - the Kaplans have a Long Island place with empty beaches, they say, and have invited us; the Mantinoons have a downtown
