today. They were on a sale and quite reasonable. Now we feel better about the trip to Chicago. Jack feel that at high speeds in warm weather [[/strikethrough]] they [[/strikethrough]] our old tires might not be safe after 50,000 miles. They were of natural rubber which does deteriorate. Jack has learned that Frauenfelder will leave at the beginning of August. He won't feel ready for prelims then, so will take them without Frauenfelder on his "board" in September. That means an easier summer for all & some more freedom in a vacation. (<-- If he passes the Optic exam he took yesterday, that is!)

We trust you won't have had too hectic a time in N.E. and will be [[/strikethrough]] rested [[/strikethrough]] home by the time this arrives. The garden does sound fine. Our only "garden" at the moment is a beautiful green algae (big long cells) which spreads over the aquarium & in which the fish takes up his den.

Love,
Doris
