Dear sir: Is the A.F. & U.C. fulfilling its function of making the Boston Soc. & the National Soc eye to eye, or is not this its function? Do Mr. Chase & Mr. Washburn understand each other?  Mr. C. commissions Mr. W. to find a lot, but Mr. W. is the agent of Boston Soc. and is bound to act for them and for nobody else.  The Boston Soc. through Mr. Chase's agency have secured for the Govt the Confederate Bakery property, consisting of a good dwelling house and three or four good large brick buildings which can easily be converted into additional quarters for teachers and school rooms. They are preparing rooms for a normal school there. So far as Mr. W. acts at all it will be to put the Winder Building upon a lot near there (1st street) to accommodate
