My Dear Sir:
I am informed that a colored Baptist Church near Ashland has erected a new building for church and school house and secondly desire a teacher assigned to them. They will have 100 pupils. Good Brother John Vassar has introduced to me Miss Josie Bell, and recommends her to the place. I most heartily second his wish, and hope you will commission her to that place. The call for teachers, colored and white for county places is very great and I fear must be largely unsatisfied. Miss B. should have all the sympathy and assistance the Bureau can extend to her.

I am very Resp'y

American Baptist Home Mission Society The 'secondly' in the first paragraph may or may not be correct. The writing becomes very small and hard to read.
