General:
I have the honor to inform you that the principal Freedmans School at Lynchburg, numbering about Four Hundred (400) scholars with four teachers, is held in a Government building which is in need of repairs. Lieut. J.P. Wodell, the Bureau officer in charge, estimates the cost of the necessary repairs at Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($350.00). I respectfully recommend that the sum named be appropriated for the repairs in question
